Jason was born and raised on a family farm near Fairfield, Nebraska, which continues to raise corn, soybeans and beef in Clay County. After high school, Jason attended the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and earned his Agronomy degree with an agricultural business emphasis in 2001. Following college graduation, he made the move to Sioux City and joined Dick Coffman at Coffman Farm Agency. In January of 2008, Jason acquired his Certified General Real Property Appraiser license in Iowa. In early 2021, AgCentric Farm Agency was established by Jason and Mike Koopmans to carry on the agricultural business legacy of Coffman Farm Agency and its predecessors. Jason serves as President of AgCentric Farm Agency and holds a real estate Broker’s license in four states – Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Minnesota. For two and a half decades, he has provided clients with professional farm management, certified appraisal and real estate sales services in the upper Midwest. Jason is a member of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisals through the Iowa Chapter.
Jason and his wife, Jocelyn, recently celebrated 25 years of marriage and live in Sioux City with their two yellow labradors, Oakley and Briar. Jocelyn has been an elementary teacher in the local Sioux City School district since 2001. Their daughter, Lauren, is currently working towards a nursing degree at Wayne State College. Son Braden enrolled at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion in the fall of 2025 and is studying business. Over the years, Jason has volunteered his time and talents for numerous activities through the Sioux City Schools, including the Sioux City North softball program. He has a passion for the outdoors and wild places and often finds himself in woods, grasslands or on the water when time allows.
